Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) support researchers at all stages of their careers, regardless of age or nationality. Researchers from all disciplines are eligible for funding. In addition, the MSCA also promote cooperation between industry and academia, as well as innovative training to improve employability and career development. Under Horizon Europe, a total budget of around € 6.6 billion is being made available for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

The main instruments within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie framework are:

MSCA Doctoral Networks

These are doctoral programmes submitted and implemented by a transnational consortium of public and/or private organisations (universities, research institutions, companies, etc.).

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

These support the career development of experienced researchers through individual research projects within or outside Europe.
Researchers who have completed their doctorate prepare the application jointly with the host organisation of their choice.

MSCA Staff Exchanges

These promote the short-term exchange of scientific, technical, and administrative staff between organisations in different countries, disciplines, and/or sectors (universities, companies, etc.).
The exchanges take place within the framework of a joint research project and are submitted by a transnational consortium of public and/or private organisations.

MSCA COFUND

This instrument supports organisations in implementing their own doctoral or postdoctoral programmes. The aim is to enhance the quality and internationalisation of new or existing funding programmes.

MSCA and Citizens

This activity promotes public events aimed at communicating science and research. These events take place across Europe every year in September.
